At Academies @ GBDS, we believe that the success of our students depends on a partnership with our parents, teachers, and administrators. Our active PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) is a vital part of our school community. 
 
Throughout the school year, there many events to get involved in, including:
* Judaic Ceremonies - Modeh Ani, Shma L'MishpachaSiddur, Chumash, Kabbalat Shabbat, Havdalah, and Torah Reading
* Academic Events - Curriculum Fair, Hour of Code, Maker Day, International Dot Day, Egg Drop, and Field Day
* Annual School Show and Zimriyah
* Mishloach Manot (Purim Baskets)
* Jewish Holiday Celebrations - Sukkah Dinner, Pesach and Tu B’Shevat Seders
* Talent Show and Chanukah Community Candle Lighting
* Community Events - Pancake breakfast and Israeli dinner
* Coordinating Programs and Events - The Book Fair, Challah Sales and Delivery, Lunch Program, Afterschool Clubs, and Spirit Wear
 
Each family is required to volunteer for 5 hours (for one child) or 10 hours (for two or more children). This helps create a sense of community within our school and provides valuable opportunities to meet other parents and welcome new families to Academies @ GBDS.
