Mission Statement

We provide a superior secular and Judaic education by challenging each of our students with innovative and enriched learning opportunities in a warm nurturing community.  We instill and foster Jewish identity and a commitment to our local community and to Israel through the integration of Jewish values, traditions, and the Hebrew language.  Our students graduate with the academic skills and strength of character enabling them to excel in higher education and to become responsible citizens and future leaders.

The Gerrard Berman Day School was founded in 1985 by a group of committed families with the support of Rabbis of synagogues in Pompton Lakes, Wayne, and Paterson, NJ. The first eighth grade class graduated in 1999. All graduates have excelled in even the most selective high schools and higher education.
